Question Battery replacement?

My battery won't hold a charge. One cell was virtually empty so I filled it with distilled water and recharged it. It still would not hold a charge.

So I am now going to buy a new battery. I found a battery at Walmart called the Everstart ES14LA2 that appears to be compatable with the original YB 14L-A2. I assume that the ES and YB refer to the manufacturer and the 14LA2 is the model. I safe to assume that this is indeed the right battery for my '04 KLR?

Should I have any concerns about this Everstart brand?

thanks in advance.

I've bought my last two batteries for my KZ550 (traded in for my 2012 KLR) from Walmart. They lasted about 3-years. If they meet the specs IMHO go for it.

Ballistic Battery

I put the eight cell battery in my 06 this year and it had been flawlless. I would post a link but im new. They can be found at Ballistic Products dot com. A little pricy but it is only 18 oz which is alot on these bikes.

I have that battery in my bike. I've owned the bike for a little over a year and the PO put the battery in 6 mo before I bought it from him (have receipt). The battery is still going strong, i have never had any problems with getting low or not being able to start the bike. However...I do not have alot of accesories that I run, like HID lights, navigation or anything, just a bare bones bike, once in a blue moon I will put my GPS on it but that dosn't phase it.

I can't offer any info about the bike battery. But about 3 years ago I put an Everstart in my old Tundra pickup. It's still going strong.

Trying to bring a bike to life this spring and there has been changes in the battery world. Anyone have recommendations on a battery or just go to Wally world and get a Everstart?

I like the PC Odyssey. Bought the kit from Happy Trails before a trip to Alaska in 2011 and it is still going strong. pricey but heavy and very reliable.

Sealed batteries are pretty much a no brainer these days. Anyone tried Battery Sharks? Offering sealed battery for KLR with 6 month warranty for about $30 TTD May have to get a battery for the portable generator for only $30 too.

Had a look at the odyssey battery here in OZ-the closest I think would work is close to 300 bucks, nothing under 280. It would almost be cheaper to post it over here if I wanted one.
If I was doing a Charlie and Ewan trip maybe 200+ for a great battery but otherwise not so much.
Hijack alert-anyone recommend a good value for money AGM battery here in OZ-SSB stuff isn't too bad?
