Anyone ride around in that area much?
I worked for a mining company back in the 80's & I always wanted to ride 168 out of Big Pine on a sportbike..
Now that I've got a doublesport, I'd love to ride Wyman Creek road..(heads north off 168 just past Deep Springs)
Anyone done either of those??

168 is incredible.
Put it on your bucket list.

I can't count how many times I've driven that road...
We stayed in Bishop, and drove over 168 and up Wyman Creek daily.
I was typically in a '70 Suburban.. but all I could think was how incredibly fun it would have been on a bike! Beautiful curves, pavement dropping into the drainages instead of bridges over them..I pictured myself wheelieing out of some of 'em.. then, if I remember correctly, it gets real tight towards the top.. some 20 mph corners.. The old 'Burban just didn't do it justice..
Then Wyman Creek road.. damn.. I worked up there in Feb a couple times.. Chain up all four wheels, LOTS of snow.. busting thru Wyman creek some 20+ times.. The summer trips were a lot less stressful :)
I would think that road would be a hoot on the KLR.... I'll make it back down there one of these days....
Another road in the area is Hwy 2 Angeles Crest Hwy. It's got to be one of the best street bike trip. I'm still looking for the best dirt trail
