I fabed up a new tool canister to mount down on the plate.

I used
T6061 aluminum .065 tubing
T6061 billet for the ends

The caps are pressed in with Orings to seal.

I machined multi start threads like a water bottle for easy thread engagement.

All that is left is make the brackets to mount to the skid plate!

Fantastic, I’ve been a machinist myself, for about 35 years. Have a little shop in my garage to keep me busy when I’m not working the day job. So did you use a CNC lathe or a manual lathe to machine those? Your knurls look pretty good; I haven’t knurled enough to really master it. Multi start threads, that is bad ass. Anyway, I am all over this project. It is totally within the garage shop capabilities. Thanks for sharing and show us some pictures of it on the bike please.

CraigES,

I used the Manual and CNC.

I will mount it and snap some shots when I get my skid plate. I was going to make a skid plate until I saw the JNS skid plate. (on order)

I am working on some paniers next...

That's the best-looking tool tube I've ever seen. Very nice! Man, you should make and sell some of this stuff. Don't you also do the custom rear brake cylinder covers? Your work is top-notch.

Nice job...looks awsome.

Have you thought about a rectangular box for the same location.
Just wondering how that would look. I don't have skills like you though.

You should sell this stuff, looks great!

I appreciate the comments I have been getting on the tool tube and rear brake covers that I made.

I throw this stuff out there to get the comments and see if I should tweek the direction that I am going.

TK,
I have thought about the rectangular one but I am not settled on the type of lid yet for that application.

I might settle on the lid for that as I finish the paniers that I have drawn up!

I have alot of ideas that I will be throwing out there.

Look forward to seeing all you out here in the near future......

That really does look nice. Really a good job.

But can you get the stock cheaper than you can buy a tool tube online?
