Only being on Glenn's site for a short time, I didn't get enough exposure to the bacon references until all the commotion with Paper leaving. So I don't wear a hole in my scalp scratching my head, can someone please give me the condensed history?

I am sure now that the references made to bacon stem from the other site you guys visit, any chance someone could fill me in on it, I haven been to the other site, just wondering what its all about.

Running joke pretty much hits it on the head.. I belong to a Motorcycle Gang.. (3 bike makes it a gang, right) We're the the BMC (breakfast meats club) and our "gang" has always had an issue as to which is the perfect breakfast meat.. I'm a bacon guy, and one other member is a sausage guy, and the third gang member won't say which he likes better, but I notice he orders bacon more often than not..

Anyway, I made the mistake of mentioning that I buy my bacon by the case at a local Amish Bulk food store... 2 reasons.. Fantastic bacon, and you get a 10% discount for buying it by the case.. I mean, why would you risk not having bacon on hand at all times?? :lol:

Anyway, I was looking for an off topic for non motorcycle stuff.

I'm in the middle of refinishing a bunch of gunstocks and wanted to hit other gun nuts up on what they tend to use?? Heh heh.. Guns... Motorcycles.. Bacon.. Excuse me for a minute... :wink:

Swish PM'ed me one day.. She was concerned that the term "bacon" had a seperate meaning and was an inside joke, or worse, some man sick humor.. :lol:

I laughed for a couple minutes before I was able to reply to her that it wasn't anything more than pickled and smoked pork belly.. When I mentioned the bacon/chocolate thing, she COMPLETELY understood..

I also recall a BMC gathering where the waitress was taking orders.. One of our temperary members (ok, he rode to breakfast with us) managed to completely confuse the waitress when she took his order..

He ordered the "special", which was 2 eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns and toast. She asked him which he would like, bacon or sausage?? His reply was "Yes, and extra butter on the toast, please?" :lol:

MMMMMMMM Bacon.. I have a roast out, but I might save it for tomorrow night.. There's still a good 20#'s of bacon in my freezer..

Bacon IS a food group in itself.

Being 6 foot and only 160 lbs, and very low cholesterol, fat's not an issue, but a requirement for the Cheapster. Mama gets a pack for the family Saturday breakfast, and a pack fer me. I do up the whole thing on a three layer dagwood except the few "test slices" I munch while making my stacker. LOL

My new office is upstairs of the Famous Pig & Pancake restaurant chain on the Oregon coast. The vents from the galley are just outside the back door. Oh, bacon, sausage, eggs, maple syrup, odiferous goodness. One of these days I'm going to have to order up! Literally, we have an elevator.
