In comparison, you could show your 2001. His has already been repainted and worn out. It had a fender brace that was not attached to the fender. The plastic choke bracket is broken. The valve adjsutment sucked after they were adjusted. The front rim is bent. His seat cover is better than yours. Bent aftermarket handlebars. BAD hand grips, handguards and levers, 35,000 miles. Tool kit broken. Tank fairing are a mess. Homemade: skidplate (not bad), aluminum rear brake unit cover (not bad), fuel tank converted from 49 states to 50 states (not bad). deCaliforniated though fuel tank vent tube was not capped. The fuel line was vacuum line and it had a fuel filter with no more than a 1/8" opening. The vacuum line was hard a rock and had no clamps. Air cleaner was DIRTY DIRTY. The petcock outlet (swivel) tube fell out of the petcock. We worked on it and it is running ok though not "travel well".
One thing it does have is a very nice owner with a lot of patience and a great attitude.
I would like to work on it at least one more time before I leave on a Florida trip and he returns home (without his KLR).
