Default Shortened kickstand, life is good!

Sawed off 1/2" off the sidestand and i couldn't be happier. Can't believe i've lived with it for the last 3years the way it was. Don't have to worry about it tipping over every where i park it, and it's even easier to sling a leg over.

I am away from home this week, so no pics sorry. Basicly cut the stand right at the weld near the pad and removed 1/2" there. Then tacked the pad back on so it was free to flex alittle, set the bike on the stand so the pad would sit in its natural position and finished welding. Other then the missmatch in the black paint you can't even tell any thing was done.

Wish I would have done this before mine fell over and bent the stock bars!

I added raising links to my KLR and a pleasant surprise was that it greatly improved the lean angle of the bike while on the stock sidestand. If I hadn't added the links, a shortened sidestand would have been on my list of Things To Do. It seems like a very good idea to me.
