Default Non starting after head gasket and "doohickey"

Hey guys, hope you might have some ideas on this cause i'm kind of miffed by it.

Replaced the balance shaft adjuster and a put a new head gasket on the bike. After completing the work putting it all back together again I can't get the bike to start. Must be something simple. Timing looks good Cam arrows pointing forward and aligned with TDC.

Problem seems to be that fuel is not getting through. Spark plug dry and no smell coming from exhaust. I'm kind of new to 4 stroked as I've only really messed with 2stroked before (and never really had any problems). Haven'tr got a manual for the bike but I"m hoping someone might have a cunning idea as to what the hell is going on with this machine.

Any idaes greatly appreciated!!!

No fuel smell even if choked? This question is not to be a smartass remark, but did you make sure the fuel petcock is on?..Don't ask me why I am asking ..lol....and also you did get both vaccuum lines hooked back up to the tank? One at petcock and one at back of tank. I know that I could start the bike with no tank on using what fuel was left in the carb, but had to hold the vaccum tube closed, the one that goes behind the fuel line, otherwise the bike would not start. I cannot think of anything else fuel related to cause that.

What he said. You could also loosen the float bowl drain to see if there is fuel in there.

Hi all. Thanks for your reply's. Unfortunately I haven't had chance to look at the bike any further due to work and ZX7R problems. The head gasket was indeed replaced and everything looks good so I guess I'll let you all know if anything else comes up. Oh yeah, not sure how much difference it makes but mine is a C model. Both hoses from the carb go to the petcock on this model.

Anyway many thanks all and I'll keep you posted....
