Default hitch carrier?

Does this look like a 650 to you guys? Or a Sherpa or 250?????

That thing totally blocks the cars taillights. In Calif, anything past 12 inches from the bumper needs tail lights. So you'd legally need to install brake light on the carrier.

We'll see. Had a 20% off coupon so ordered last nite.

Right Paulo. Thought of that, but I have some magnetic tow lights that should bungee right on.

Remember tho, if something (and aluminum hitch carrier for $100) seems too good to be true..........

the KLR WILL be pushing the limits of that carrier.
You may need some extra support.

This reminds me of a guy that was coming to a tech day.. he was using one of those hyd. lift type carriers. I got a call about 9am..
" I'm not going to make it there today.... the bike fell off the lift... and I had to drag it off the freeway."

Yep, TOBJ - that's kinda what motivated my first post -- I was just thinking that the 650 was stretching it a bit. I think my wifes 250 should be just fine. Which will be great for weekend camper trips -- when you want to go to the store and don't want to take down the camp. Should be able to use a double receiver for the bike and the boat. That would put less than 550-600 lbs on the hitch which is no problem for the hitch or the truck.

I'll be using the "motohitch" I made.

My camper is pushing the limits already and I cant hang another 400lb's off the back with the 4' extention I have to use.

You could (if you have clear room). Weld some short pieces of pipe or sq. tube to the sides of the hitch. then run a couple piece of pipe into them and have the moto carrier rest on them to give you more capacity...

That's what I thought when I saw your original thread w/ the 10ft camper. Mine's an 8ft Alaskan on a 3/4 Ram w/big Ranchos and Airlifts. so don't anticipate any serious probs.
