Biffy Bullfrog drowns damp

Biffy Bullfrog, my 2007 KLR650, has thrice died in damp weather. We'll be tootling along through drizzle happy as a clam when suddenly she acts like she ran out of gas. No amount of cranking will re-start her. But if I turn her off and wait for five or ten, she starts back up. It only happens in wet weather. It happens extremely rarely. I have taken her swimming through streams without issue. I have taken her riding through snow, sleet, and heavy rain without issue. What's baffling is how rarely and intermittent this occurs. Only four times in two years. Always in light rain. This is not a behavior I can purposely repeat in order to diagnose what the condition is or whether I have cured it.

What should I do to weatherproof Biffy Bullfrog?

Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism; complete with witch hunts, funny outfits, and humorless preachers thundering doom. The name of the Deity is changed to Safety; the name of Satan is changed to Lawyer; but the object is the same: to suck the life out of life and tell you how to live it.

Have you done the T-mod? If you haven't, you need to.

Do you have a vapor recovery system on your fuel tank?? If so your tank may not be venting and the charcoal in the canister when wet will cause a vacume in the tank and fuel starvation. The next time it happens vent the tank by opening the cap, see if it starts. My 09 had a vent problem when I would over fill the tank in the hot Arizona sun, fuel expansion would push back into the canister and do the samething.. I also like your quote...
