Dumb doohickey question

I'm going to do an oil change soon, and was wondering if I could tell if the doohickey had been replaced by just removing the crank/balancer cover, or will I have to go all the way in? I'm 3rd owner and PO didn't know what i was talking about.

From my understanding you have to go all the way in.

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, 'Holy shit .... What a Ride!

The cover and the flywheel, unless you have access to a cheapo borescope and can look around corners.

Your 07' will have the 2 pc unit like this..

If you get lucky, you'll see this..

Torsion spring style

Regular spring style
