Trouble idleing this morning

Temp 32 deg, tank on reserve, choke out and warming up for a couple of minutes, all of a sudden it chuggs to a stop like its fuel starved. Started it again and it would run for about 20 secoinds then quit again. Fineally got on her and rode to work with no problems. Whats up with this?????????????

You may have let it run with the choke on full to long. If you have any carb mods that could also be a factor. If your idle airscrew has been turned out it will not need to be choked as much. These things could lead to a rich condition that will flood your cylinder and shut down your bike. Try a little less choke and see what happens. You may have to work at it to find your bikes sweet spot for starting. Also you may want to blurp the throttle just a little after a few seconds of running. If your letting it just idle with the choke on full it will load with fuel and shut down.

Agree with Deerhntr. This is a question. Will the choke on full affect the vacuum at the carb? If so, the diaphram at the petcock is not working properly. Deerhntr is probably correct.
