Ok, I am looking at getting the Vance & Hines XCR slip-ons for my 2006 and am looking for advice on jetting it. I recently did the .22 cent mod and nothing else. I am looking for set-up suggestions for this. Should I look at a Dyno-jet kit (or another brand) and will it have suggested set-ups (jet sizes, e-clip setting,...)?I really had not thought about the air filter at this time, but what about that issue? If there is anyone out there with this slip-on I would like to hear how yours is set-up for it.
Probably the most straightforward approach would be to get the KLX needle and one jet size smaller than stock, then follow the instructions that Schnitz Racing provides. You can find them on line. You shouldn't need more jets than the stock and one size smaller to tune your set-up.
We have some information, here, too. Checkout the Common Mods and Issues thread that is stickied at the top of this forum.
For the filter, go stock or Uni. The K&N filter for the KLR does not flow as well as either of those.
I'll suggest it is because you love carburation threads and the system 'knows it'.
