safety switches

Did I read - or just imagine that I read, that the kickstand sw interupts ignition and that the clutch sw interupts the start ckt.? Anyone got time to school me in what the myrid of interrupts do?

I was e-mailed wiring diagrams(and greatly appreciate them) but I am better with schematic diagrams than wiring diagrams. Don't know if anyone has ever drawn u p schematics....?

Jim (still trying to learn)

I'm sure Damocles will be on this in a bit...

Both switches (in conjunction with the neutral switch) interupt the starting circuit. The starter will not turn if the switches are engaged. So consequently if you disable the switches the starter will turn even when the bike is in gear with predictable results.

My switches are disabled. Before I start the bike I always have it in neutral and check it by rocking the bike because sometimes the neutral dash light will light even if in gear. Just took one time with the bike trying to lurch off when the starter cranked to get me in the habit!

X2! & do the clutch switch as well. Best mod(s) a person can do as far as I am concerned.
