A little help!

Hey all,
I am in the processs of doing the valves (again) and visually checking the doo. I took the side case off and adjusted the doo (it didn't move) and put the side case back on. Now I'm wondering if I tapped the doo the wrong way. If you are facing the open case, which way does the bottom of the doo move (if needed)?
I read a post about how to do this long ago, but am unable to find it!
Thanks,

Jamie
