I haven't used one yet, but I will be putting one in my bike as soon as I can.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Just put one on Saturday at the tech day in Petaluma. Went on with no big deal. I had lots of supervisory help I might add. I would not recommend doing it without some experienced help. There are several little tricks that will make the whole job go alot easier. It would seem to me to be a better solution then the factory style set up. I had both types of springs but, I elected to go with the torsion spring. You want to make sure you drill the hole in the side case as straight as possible.
The left coast site write up is very good and will help with the install. I printed it out and brought it with me.

There are only two kinds of motorcycles: those we need and those we want!
