Hi Matt and welcome to the forums!

Sounds like a cool project you have on the go, can't wait to see some pics!

That being said, forum policy here is that you have to post 15 times before you can post pics or links... Kind of a pain in the tucas I know, but it's an extremely effective anti spam measure that has pretty much cut our spam to nil. Here's a link to a test post thread if you just want to post numbers or something to bring your count up!

Question about refinishing plastic....

Matt: Your project looks good. Can you describe how you plasti-dipped some of the plastic? I've got faded red covers and fairing like yours' were and would like to resurrect them. Thanks.

Hey Boeingdriver so i chose to have a set of black and red plastics so i plasti dipped the old ones which you can see the front fender in the pics but its just like doing a rattle can job but if you dont like it you can just peal it all off they make red/black/green/clear just about every color. so you can def make it red if you would like to they take about 2-4 hours per coat to dry if you dont have direct sunlight. so i just pull off everything off get a good area thats clean to do it in clean up the parts your painting sand out any big scratches if you have them and pick your color dont hold the can to close and start you first coat use about 4 to 5 coats and it should look pretty good and last around 6 months to a year depending on if you drop the bike or no because it does just peel off. can run 8 bucks at my local parts store let me know if there is anything else i can do to help!

Thanks Matt. The fairing looks great. I'll give it a try. Keep posting about your build.
