Surging while decelerating

My bike has a slight surge when I roll off the throttle and let it coast down. Usually at higher speeds like above 40, if I am heading down a hill it surges several times. It has good gas in it, the plug only has 2K on it, clean air filter.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be and how to go about fixing it?

Never heard of this before..... surging on deceleration? Are you sure your chain is ok? No tight spots?

What do you mean by surge? What is the tach doing?

Mine did the same thing when new.
Here's the fix: shim the needle & turn the pilot jet adjustment screw out 2 1/4 turns. I did that and the surging went away. Here's a how-to:
