Am I doing right in starting new one when I get stumped? This time: Still tracing battery to clutch switch - Battery at the white wire going into the connector to the ignition switch, nothing coming out at the blk/yel(yeah, I turned the switch on!). Looks like the switch is riveted into it's mounting plate?? took screws outta the base of the switch but put them back in when the cover lifted a bit and it looked lik things might want to jump out! Headdlight still turns on & off....(IF I remember to plug the connector back in!!)

WHITE is constant + 12 VDC; BLACK/YELLOW, constant sytem ground.

Battery doesn't connect to clutch switch through ignition switch. Clutch switch pole connects to starter circuit relay (RED/BLUE), one throw to neutral switch (LIGHT GREEN), another throw to system ground (BLACK/YELLOW).

What problem do you address?

Must have gotten crosswired trying to make starter button work - anyhoo, in the process, removed instrument cluster. Speedo inop, glass broken out, ordered entire assy.(according to salesman) for $194.67. Will try to reassemble things and start all over. The contacts on the clutch switch were all gunked up. Should have stopped there. Never will find where all the screws go....Boy! am I gettin' familiar with this bike! Next time, I think I will just jump the starter to the battery....

Jim

ps: that stuff they wouldn't let us talk about years ago is now spread all over the internet - pics & all!
