Review of CraigES's Footpeg Lowering Adapter
I'm 6'-8 or 9", and wear a size 15, 16 shoe. The KLR is one of the few bikes that I can ride. To shift, I have to put my foot at about a 45 degree angle and squeeze it between the fit peg and shifter, then shift. The heel of my boot would not be able to contact the foot peg. I found out about an adapter that a member here was selling, CraigES, and decided to give it a try. This adapter drops, and moves the pegs rearward 1". They just came in today. Well made, sturdy, looks good, it included the hardware, with very high quality fasteners, much higher quality than the factory. (I always kinda worried about those cheap factory bolts that held the foot pegs on every time I stood on them.) Removed the foot pegs and bolted up the adapter and foot pegs with the included hardware and of course Locktite. Took about 15 minutes. Looks good, felt good, more importantly I can easily shift! My boot fits easily under the shifter now, no contortions needed. In fact I dropped the shifter a little, and readjusted the rear brake lever. If you have big feet, and need some more foot and leg room, I highly recommend this mod.
