Post Increase mpg?!?

Just wondering if jetting/air-filter/exhaust will have an adverse effect on my economy? I get about 45 mpg and my '89 muffler is starting to rust... just wondering if I should swap for stock or do the exhaust/jet stuff! Thanks!

Leave the Exhaust and jetting alone..(save for the pilot jet adjustment)
Mileage will go down, bike will run hotter, you'll be pulling the sparkplug to check for lean conditions, you'll always be wanting to squeeking a lil more "HP" out of it...It's not there.

Well, ok. On a dyno it show it there, But I think it's a placebo affect of hearing the loud pipe.

Put a stock can back on and forget about it.

If you want a hp. gain. get the 685 piston kit, or wait till the 705 kit comes out. ... then you'll have something.

my opinion..

When I put the Supertrapp Quiet series on my bike, I lost about 3 MPG. I did adjust the fuel mixture per Eagle Mike.

I gained alot in the kick-ass thumper sounds though...

I put a Super-Trapp Racing Series pipe on mine many many moons ago, with 4 discs in it. It is quite loud, which I've grown to like because I get a better feel for my engine as I can hear exactly where it is for shifting and pushing it hard. Also, I have found it helpful when riding with my buddy in the woods. When he goes off to check a trail and I wait for him, I have no idea where he is. Now when I go check a trail he knows exactly where I am because he can hear me, of course you don't need a pipe this loud to hear someone in the woods. That being said, I definitely have more power than I use to. I also have a "Snuffer" cap on it that will quiet it down a little just by turning the cap, when I close the Snuffer, it does take away some of the power that I had.
