European/Afrikan Single Light Switch

Greetings!

I'm considering replacing the stock Kawasaki light switch with the European/Afrikan Single Light Switch. I also happen to already have the Clearview 7" windshield. Might any of you know if the relocation of the mirror will work with this windshield?

Regards

KLR Switch Kit

Greetings!

Perhaps some of you know the European/Afrikan Single Light Switch as the KLR Light Switch. Here is a photo . . .

So, do any of you now know if it will work with the larger windshields, i.e., Clearview, etc.... My concern is that the relocation of the mirror, might interfere with the windshield.

Regards

I've thought about that replacement too. I particularly like the idea of the push to cancel turn signals and the trigger actuated hi/lo beam. Let us know how it goes if you get one. I have done the mirror relocation and I have the tall (Kaw) windshield, doesn't cause any problems with turning. Also nice to have the choke up out of the way so that if (when) you tip over it doesn't get knocked all wonky.

Follow up . . . Light Switch

Greetings!

I am very likely going to do this in the near future. KLR650.com states that it does not interfer with their high windshield which I believe to be a knock off for the Clearview windshields for the KLR. Having the ability to turn the head light off by day will possibly allow the electrics to operate other electric toys.

Regards

You might bump the windshield in parking lot maneuvers (read lock to lock with feet on the ground) but in everyday riding you'll never know the difference.

I just got mine today. Looks like everthing will work out fine but I have the stock shield. My hand guards hit way before the mirror ever will. I'm thinking you should be okay though.

I have one and love it. As for the windshield, I have a 9" over, and have had NO problems with the mirrror. I don't know about 650.com, but TPI includes the relocation clamp with their switch. http://www.tpi4x4.com/KLR650/AirFilters.htm I have bought LOTS of things from Bob, and he always takes care of me.
