Angry This really sucks!!!

Hi everyone,

Last week my bike was stalling and making the popping sounds in the
exaughst pipe and jumping back while I was driving... so I took it to
service and they cleaned my carb... I was out of town this weekend
and I came back to my bike realizing the problem was occuring yet
again... I'm so confused and I don't know what to do about this... my
bike is basically a brand new '06 with 314 miles on it... has this
happened to any of you guys before?... please guide me through this
problem. I forgot to mention this, when I drive it on reserve it
works fine... but I need to get this problem fixed ASAP.

Thanks,
Amin

I may be way off, but if it works fine on reserve, then I would assume there is something wrong with the main fuel pickup inside the tank, or the petcock itself.

2008 DL650 VStrom Yellow and Black
Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

Pull the tank off and pull the petcock there may be something blocking the hose.

If the bike has only 314 miles on it, how long have you had it? If you bought a leftover bike from a dealer, you still have a full warranty. You paid for this warranty in the price of the bike. USE IT!! That's why there's a warranty. It's for factory assembly and parts screw ups.

I would agree with that, however dealing with most dealer is a pain in the butt and you might have to do some of this to get anything done.

That's true, but it depends on the dealer.

My local dealer SUX, but my semi-local (20 miles away) is fantastic, and gets my business because of this.

It pays to shop around.

When you took it to the dealer did you tell them it ran fine on reserve? It would have to be something in the petcock if it runs fine on reserve, I would try running some "seafoam" through it. You could also pull the petcock to ensure there isn't any trash blocking the inlets.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
