tweet tweet...

I have a 99 KLR with about 14,000. Good maintence records. Used to run a supertrapp for a few thousand miles but switched back to OEM muffler at the beginning of the season. No problems etc. This past monday when I started it up, it made this wierd and very annoying tweeting type noise. It has been there ever since. At higher RPMs it seems to go away but returns at idle and low RPMs.
Does my muffler need to be repacked? Can they even be repacked?

Any other fix suggestions??

thanks in advance...

You have the famous tweety. I also have it, been awhile now. I'll be killing it very soon.

No need to rehash it all here. Do a search for Tweety and you'll find all the information you need.

I killed tweety by using a hole saw & cutting out the center.

Read post #6 from Harley Dog

I ended up with this. I used 1 3/4 pipe about 3 in. long. I cut out a V, the bent it together & welded it all up

I am happy with it. The sound is alot throatier without being much louder.
