Ive replaced the balancer and have approx 5000kms since.I change my oil (Rotella) every 1000kms but Im still getting small aluminum flakes in my oil filter.
Also how bad is it to re-use the flywheel bolt?

You say "still" getting alum. flakes in the filter. What is the history on that? How much, how big. Can you add a picture.

Because of the torque it is not recommended to reuse the rotor bolt however you are not the first to do it. Myself I don't. Your call.

the few bucks for a new rotor bolt makes it not worth the chance. It is the aluminum flakes that should be your concern. Were you getting them before you did the balancer? And by replace the balancer do you mean the doohicky or was there other work?

Not a mechanic just curious

Doo only was replaced.

I changed my oil today and took apart the oil filter. All I found was very light dusting of non magnetic particles smaller than pepper. So its prob okay, just clutch debris.
I did notice tho that the Wix oil filter medium is twice as thick as any other filter Ive used and it was almost like wool with lots of fibers criss-crossed and tons of glue to hold it all together. There was no way to remove the filter element without ripping it to pieces. Looks like a well made filter tho,But I dunno its mt first one.

Stator cover is off, chains look good tight doo is okay, Im gonna button her back up,But one thing. What does one use to clean the old gasket? I was thinking of a "Magic erasure" ?
