front fork cap torque

hi everyone im serviceing my front forks would it be ok to add spacers to my front forks also the main question is how much torque do I tighten the caps at .thank for any replies

Clymer say to torque caps to 29 Nm or 21 ftLb.

You can add spacers but I've done other bikes, not the KLR so I'll let others reply.

The main limit as to spacers is how strong you are to hold them in while starting the threads.

Need to be careful not to cross thread as you have to compress spring and spacer setup as you start to turn on thread.
