Looking for front brake caliper rebuild kit

Been searching high and low for a rebuild kit for my first gen KLR - and having no luck. They make them for the second gen, but can't find anything for a first gen. Searched this forum without any luck. Have to believe there is a kit out there for the first gen.

This source claims to have 'em, but . . . claims an application from "1987-2013," a little hard to believe! (The image looks like Generation 1, to me.)

http://www.klr650.com/BrakeCaliperRebuildKits.htm

And these guys claim to have a "1990-1991" application:

(Reckon that's Generation 1!)

Other sources may exist; KLR specialists like Arrowhead would know.

CAVEAT: Google references only; can not verify validity.

My only concern with that item is that it says 08-13 on the listing. That seems to be the issue. Other than the one that Damocles found I don't see any listed for first gen. I sent them a note to confirm it fits first and second gen (87-13). I guess I could look at a parts fiche and see if they have same parts numbers.

I doubt any caliper rebuild kit crosses the Generation divide, because . . . Generation 1, single-piston calipers; Generation 2, dual-piston calipers; front and rear (despite Kawasaki's published specifications).

The only compatibility I can imagine is, if all the pistons are identical in size, and you throw away half the kit if you've a Generation 1.

Odd I can't find a rebuild kit for a bike that sold in the millions (that may be an exaggeration). I called Arrowhead but he was out. I'll try them tomorrow. I also checked on the bikebandit parts list and they don't show an image but list the parts. Basically just want new seals.

Go to a dealer. The seals will be a lot cheaper than those kits.
