KLR Oil Filter

I like to do some maintenance on my KLR and oil changing is one of the things I like. I bought a stock Kawasaki oil filter yesterday and was amazed at how cheaply it was built. I quickly ordered a K & N filter, but was interested in finding out if anybody else feels the same as I do about that puny thing Kawasaki calls a filter. Thanks.

I use a NAPA filter. It seems to be a lot better than the stock one. I forget the number. They can order it in. They are a lot cheaper than the K&N. My brother uses the stainless filter in his KLR.

My buddy and I use HIFLOFILTRO filters, number 123. They look great and run about $3/ea. I am looking into the stainless that is cleanable. Emgo are good also.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

I use a Wix and it comes with replacement o-rings which the Kawi doesn't.

Emgo from Bike Bandit.
Bulk (12 or so), with the discount for being an AMA member puts the price down below $2 a filter, shipped to my house..

Emgo filters have been repeatedly tested to be as good or better than OEM filters for this bike.

I also run a magnetic drain plug, and change oil every 2000 miles..
