Lowering and a 14T Sprocket change

Greetings everyone, been riding my 2004 since March, liking the bike more with every ride. Did the most serious offroad stuff ever in my humble experience with m/c's in some B.C. desert country around Osoyoos. I found the bike was a little high geared and a little tall for me as my controlled falls will attest. (pride bruised more than bike). So bought some 1.5 inch lowering links and a 14T sprocket, installed both, easy as pie and WOW what a great difference! If you have any doubts about the mod and feel a little short some rides, don't hesitate, what a change,like a new bike. My freeway use is limited but I found 60mph as effortless as usual, but a little peppier getting there. Anyhow thats my 2 cents. I'm going riding!

I agree, for real off road a lower gearing makes a world of diffrence. However, height seems to play into the roll of lowering links. I found that at 6'4" a 1" raising link made all the diffrence. As for gearing I currently use a 14 front with a 45 rear. 65mph is at 5000 rpm.
