Doohickey Replacement South Bay, CA

Hello folks! I just got my 2000 KLR 650 a week or so ago and am hoping to do a doohickey replacement.

Although I feel fairly comfortable doing it with my friends, I'd very much enjoy the help of someone that's done it before (esp. if they have the rotor holder wrench or other tools).

Anyone in the South Bay, CA (Mountain View) that wants to help out?

There is so much info on the Doohickey on the Net I'm sure a blind man can do it. You can get a kit complete with tools from Eagle Mike.

My Kaw Barn - 2004 KLR, 2006 Concours (sold), 1997 Bayou 400.

????. There was a time I was thinking about getting out of CA but it never happened. You may hear inklings of that again as the thermometer creeps closer to 110.......

My mistake. It was beejjorgensen that was moving to Bend.

I was in Redding a couple of years ago. I came from Crater Lake where it was about 40 degrees F and by the time I got to Redding it was 100! Uncomfortably hot. Thankful there was a pool at the hotel. Loved the Sundial Bridge.

Next time we do Highway 97 it will be good to know that some KLR owners are around the Bend. ;-)

I'm a bit further north again from SkiBumBrian but happy to help anyone near Chilliwack. I even get some refugees from Washington State from time to time. :-)

We've already had a week of over 100, topping at 107. Hot for this time of year. Next week it is supposed to be 106-108 for July 4th. I see a ban on fireworks coming, including the shows....

Sorry we got off your thread subject. Many have the tools and are willing to loan them via mail if that works for you, and klr4evr is right, just watch the youtube videos and follow EagleMikes instructions and you really cant go wrong. I would send you my tools but I think they are going to Texas next week.....
