I did my doo yesterday, and switched to AMSoil, at 2700 miles on an '07. Changed out the oil filter (FRAM), too. I used a very tiny amount of blue RTV on the new gaskets. I started up to check the oil level, and when I shut down, the sight glass was full of foamy, light brown oil. It cleared over about 15 minutes to the right no-bubbles color. I started up a few times over the following 5 hours, and got the same result, maybe a little quicker clearing. When I started up this morning, I saw the same foamy oil in the sight glass. It cleared up in a few minutes, and I started up again. Same deal.
AMSoil says this is the result of using RTV sealant on the gaskets, adding oil before the RTV has completely cured, and not to drive the bike while the foaming is happening, but that once it clears for good it will not have any effect on the viscosity or other qualities of the oil.
Anybody have experience with this? I'm dyin' to ride! How long will it take, and should I change oil again? We're talkin' $$$ here with AMSoil...
