Just a 'bump', for easier access.

Maybe this Thread should be 'Stickied', Tom?

I see that I made some promises in this thread that I didn't keep. When I get a bit of time I may see about stacking up a transmission and upper balancer shaft.

The oil filter cavity pictures are yet to come and the original ideas ahve been overcome by events.

I invite any suggestions for investigation into Joe's Crankcase.

Tom

Dave is waiting for gear and a few other bits on B/O from Japan so could do more photos of the guts of the 2013.

Tom and Normk,
I think I have an idea, way past due!
Bike on tires, level on rear rack or gas cap.
System, Well Drained, over-night maybe?

Oil Window at 1.25 L/QT ONLY, mark liters on LH / quarts on RH.
Oil Window at 1.5 / at 1.75 / at 2.0 / at 2.25.

With the filter cavity mod, I think it will contain 4 of the approximately 8 ounces.
At the bottom edge of the center pipe!

That stripped oil drain plug hole is just CRYING for an oversize oil drain plug!

No, it isn't! It is retired and basking comfortably in the various fumes and odors emanating from the Shop of Horrors.

It labored long and hard as an example of what a stripped drain plug looks like and its retirement is well deserved.
DPelletier and samuel like this.
