Newb Questions.... HELP!

Could Someone help? I had bought a new KLR in 2005. In 2006 I left home for Marine Corps recruit training. It has been over two years now since I have had a chance to ride it or even start it up. So the question is, are there going to be any problems when I return home? And If there are, What are the main things I should look for?

If you left gas in it without treating it you will need to drain it and probably take the carb off and clean any deposits out of the bowl and the jet before you even try anything.

You probably will have to get a new battery if it sat that long. You never know for sure. I would probably just change it and not worry about it later.

I would change the spark plug and the oil and filter.

Lube the chain and you should be ready to roll.

Oh and THANK YOU for serving. I hope you stay safe.

Probably need a new battery, if you didn't drain the fuel, you'll need to do that and put fresh in it, and hope the carb isn't gummed up. Go ahead and change the oil too. Then give the starter a click and see if she fires up. I bet it does.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.

Same as above, change all fluids, and when I got back from the army, the rats chewed up my spark plug boots and wires. Visual inspection for anything chewed up, check your tire conditions. Ride safely. The cagers are not your friend.
