New Exhaust pipe

Hey guys,
I got a 1999 KLR a few months ago. I was riding hope today and my exhaust pipe kind of broke apart in the middle. It was really rusted out anyways and i knew i was going to have to replace it soon. I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion on where i could get a new one, if a kawasaki dealer or if online would be better? Also am curious is anyone has replaced one before and how hard it is? I have a supper trapp muffler(not by choice, was on it when i got it) and that is still in good shape, so i really just need the pipe.

Thank you,
Dacotah

Dacotah -

It depends on what broke. If it was the header pipe you can buy any year KLR header pipe and replace it. e-Bay, parted out bikes in the classifies section of the forum, or a WTB ad in the forum might do the trick.

The header pipe runs from the head back to about the down tube on the rear sub-frame.

The Super Trapp comes with a mid pipe that runs from the header pipe to the muffler. If that rusted out you might be able to take the pieces to a muffler shop and have them bend you up a new mid-pipe.

ahhh ok thanks Tom. I guess it would be the Mid pipe then, it rusted threw close to where it attaches to the header pipe. Thanks again.
