newb trying to prep for all weather riding

I know by now definitely I should do the "T-mod:" for the carb as I will be commuting in the rain. Instead of buying a kit, isn't as easy as getting a T and some tube to reroute the new tube up high on the frame?

Any other issues I should address before I start on my all weather daily commuting?

I kind of figure it would be a good idea to dose every connection with dielectric grease to prevent moisture damage and the safety bypass mods.

How well do the electronics for the hand warmers fair under wet conditions?

Also I've seen quite a few cheap "water proof" covers on Ebay, I'd like to have a cover for when I'm at work and the occasional T-storm roll through. Are those covers worth a crap?

Any others thought's/ides?

Mike

Got my stuff for T mod at Lowe's. Get a couple feet of 1/4 ID clear hose and a 1/4 Tee. I routed the tube up under my seat. About 4 bux worth I think. Definatetly put di-electric grease everywhere you can find connections. IE: under the seat, under rear fender, under the tank, behind left and right side fairings. The covers are pretty much good for a season of use.

Previous ride was a 2007 KLR Black/Silver, I miss it..
Looking to get back into KLR's sometime soon.
