2007 KLR up upgrades??

OK so i am on KLR #2 now and love them, just picked up the 07 and doing breakins now but soon will be addons, now the questions can i take the boots off and runs without them, and not harm the forks(seals). what does the mb valve consist of looking to make more power and curve up the turns i know i should ride it on and off road but i want to beat up on some of the sport bikes in the turns here in Hawaii thanks for the info from you all. pics soon of the new project.

The seals will be fine if you don't get off road and into grime and sand. Without protection, and with the forks moving up and down, the seals will probably wear over time and cause some oil leakage. If your going to stay on road, you should be fine.

As for the MB valve, this link should help with your questions:

If you want to really open up the bike with some power, put on an after market exhaust and an adjustable carb needle.

We have the Jardine pipes, installed the studebaker needle, and opened up the air box with 5 to 6 one inch holes. The factory airfilter flows great. This will allow some great throttle response increase and mid range power, right where you want it. Also follow the directions for drilling the slide vacuum hole. Money well spent, IMHO.

Nah it still performs great, because the air box actually has a couple different chambers and the MB valve will be on the chamber side of the carb, not the airfilter. Also if you make holes or do the L mod be aware of not cutting past the wall where the airfilter connects too.
