At wits end !! Dynojet

Ok, new bike..........08 klr 650

Only 1 mile on it.......yes, 1 mile..........

New two brothers pipe

New air box "L" mod

NewUNI air filter

New dyno Jet kit....... their needle, 3rd clip from the top, drilled out, air screw 2-1/2 turns out

Smog stuff removed and plate put on the inlet hole by the spark plug..........

NOW........bike has hard time starting, wont idle with out choke on and when it is on it revs high and wont stabilize itself. When choke is off it will not idle. When I give it gas it stalls out. I have checked for vacume leaks, called dynojet and confirmed my settings and double checked for improper lines and or pinches........I AM AT MY WITS END!! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??????? Mr. Matt

Did you check the slide diaphragm for a hole? We didn't know it, but pinched my buddies in the process of changing out the needle and drilling the slide. You didn't state wether you changed the main jet or not, if so how big did you go?

slide ok.......

155 main jet...... I know you cant check the diaphram once its in but I have been as careful as possible. I have had it apart three times tonight and no pinches. I know what it looks like as I have done that before to a carb. I am as careful as I can be.............still frustrated. Matty

WOW!!!, you got a 155 in an 08??!!!!
You know the factory 08 Main is only a 145? Or did yours have a 148? With my jardine, we kept the stock main jet, set the needle on the third slot, did the air box mod and kept the stock filter, suggested by Eagle Mike, and I am still a tad rich. We tried a 155 in my buddies bike and it would NOT run at all. Way too much fuel. But I do know each bike is a bit different for whatever reason in how they run. I think you should go back down on your main to the stock one.

Ok........

at this point I will try anything as I am just spinning my wheels with the dynojet kit. I am going back to stock settings if I cant get this thing to work and do the .20 cent mod with the stock needle and just learn my lesson and throw the dynojet kit away. Nothing like throwing 80 bucks out the window eh? Matt

The 20 cent mod works real well. But don't lose faith yet. Like I said, maybe try the OEM Main, put the e clip on maybe the second position and give that a try. It took me about two weeks to finally find the right setup, and that was thru a lot of asking questions and research.
