Miles

I'm looking at getting a KLR, is 21k miles on s 2001 considered high mileage?
what should I look for on this bike?
Thanks

Look for a well-maintained bike, or a real nice price.

Yup, there is no real set mileage for a KLR... They will pretty much run forever if well maintained as Savage said. I've seen pics of bikes with over 100,000 miles on them.

I just bought my '99 last month - 26k on clock - runs beautifully. Was used hard by PO, but well taken care of.

The nice thing about several thousand miles on a KLR is that it depresses the price those unfamiliar with the KLR are willing to pay and thus the price you have to pay.

The Gen 1's are solid. My 2008 Gen 2 started using oil at 36,000 miles and I did a 688 kit on it and haven't looked back. 41,000 on it now and plans on long trips in the future.
