Losing alot of oil

I travel 206 miles per day to and from Camp Roberts here in central Cali and I started riding a 2005 KLR 650 I bought used with low miles. I changed the oil and filter every 2-3k and maintained the chain and sprockets and tires for 18k. Yesterday on my way home I noticed a stream of oil from the back of the engine. I pulled over and found oil pouring from the air box and pcv hose leading to it. I figured the hose came loose to I secured it with hose clamps and topped off the oil. 6 miles down the road the engine made a cloud of oil spraying from the left side somewhere. I trailered it home and do not want to run it to find where the spray of oil is coming from until I have more information. Can anyone help?!
Also it just would'nt idle earlier in the day it happened.

Can you tell where the oil came from?

The air box has a hose coming out the bottom with a bowl like thing on it to catch excess oil from the air cleaner.

Could your oil be coming from the sprocket?

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.

Exclamation

After researching the problem and going over the bike, I found the crankcase has ALOT of pressure when it is running, so combustion gases have to be escaping from somewhere, most likely the piston or rings. I'm not gonna want to tear down the motor any further. Any one want to buy a slightly used KLR?
