This cam is broken isnt it

My intake side cam is not makeing the valves go up or down the cam itself isnt moving at all as the motor spins. MY carb isnt getting gas which makes sence no vaccum from the intake= no vaccum for gas to the petcock. My question is what do I need to do in order to get it going again. I made a video but cant post it so that doesnt help you but the valves are not going up or down and the cam isnt spinning any help would be appreciated thanks

Ok im retarded there is a 10mm bolt that secures the cam gear to the cam shaft it was very loose I tightened it up and now they work as they should still not getting it to go but it will sputter with starting fluid I think it is a timing issue now I will look up how to set timing on these and go from there thanks

Cam timing is simple, but very important. Too far off will cause the piston to hit the valves and bend them.

1. Set the crank to top-dead-center.

2. Set the cam sprockets so that the arrows on each sprocket are pointed to the front and parallel with the top of the head next to them.

The general suggestion is to start the the idle mixture screw 1 7/8 turns out. Then turn the idle speed screw on the side of the carb down to the lowest speed it will run at. The readjust the mixture screw for the highest idle. After all that reset the speed screw to about 1,300 rpm idle speed.

On a cool morning you might need the choke for 30 seconds to a minute.

I haven't seen Hot Cams stamped on my stock cams.

hunter85, ya' did pretty good. Its runnin'! But I have questions!

Was the 'DOWEL PIN' missing or broken from the camshaft, or was the bolt so loose that it was ready to fall out?
Did you use Loc-Tite red on the Bolt?
Were you able to 'Torque' the Intake cam sprocket BOLT to 36 foot pounds?
Did you also Loc-tite and torque the exhaust cam sprocket bolt?
Did Torqueing to 36 ft lbs with the cams installed and relying on the Cam Chain to prevent rotation "Strip a 'tooth or Two' OFF of the cam chain Tensioner?

Just trying to "Not have a repeat" problem. Sorry.
