LED signals, yes I got them to work :)

Hey guys, so some of you may know I am building that 87 KLR. I went with LED for front and rear signals. Of course they didn't work with the old school mechanical relay. WELLL, I also own a Yamaha FZ-09 that has been built and I no longer have signals, but do have the relay. The FZ09 came stock with a 2 pin relay and goes what, it works GREAT on the KLR. It flashes as normal and they are nice and bright. I attached a few pics of the relay with the part #. Can be had used on eBay. You will have to cut/solder connectors and most likely find a 2 pin connector. I just re-used it from the bikes wire harness... Just thought I'd throw this out there. Guessing it works cause its an electronic one. I attached a pic of what wire color goes where too. Thanks!!

Yamaha part #: FE246BS

What does the wiring at the back of the brake light look like? I have been debating switching to LED but I'm not great at wiring.

The brake/tail light bulb on my gen2 KLRs are standard SAE #1157 bulbs. I replaced mine with an 1157 LED bulb from superbrightleds.com with a builtin flasher for the brake. No wiring required just plug and play.

I had to add a resistor to get my led lights to slow down the blink you can pick them up at local dealer or radio shack.

A two wire electronic flasher relay like any of the three here should do the job: https://www.superbrightleds.com/sear...cle%20flasher/

Also, the Metric Bike Diode Kit shown below the relays in the link would be needed to keep the voltage from the blinkers on one side from bleeding through the single dash indicator bulb and causing the low current LED bulbs on the opposite side to blink.
