what jet size?

I want to buy a supertrapp ids2 race core muffler for my 02 klr 650 does anybody have a jet size recommendation?

Keep your stock 148 jet, but install an adjustable needle and set it on the second setting from the top or the middle setting. If the bike is still a bit lean after that, you might consider a 150 jet, but doubt you will need it.
If you haven't done it already, remove the rubber intake snorkle to the air box on the left hand side behind the side plate and under the seat. A pair of vicegrips work nicely to pull it out with.

Have you done any airbox mods? That makes the biggest difference in the main jet that you will need. The KLX needle jet kit from Schnitz racing is much more affordable than the DynoJet or Moose Racing kits. If the airbox has not been L-modded try a 140 main jet w/ the clip at the second position from the top. With the L-mod try a 142 main jet. If you're staying with the stock needle the stock 148 main jet should still be fine.

so pipe and airbox mod one up on the jet, adjustable needle on second from the top.... idle screw out about two turns?

between 2 and 2 1/2....should be good to go with all that. Be careful of the front wheel wanting to come up easy with only throttle input. It'll put a smile on your face ..

so I ordered the studebaker rx-14 pipe from klr650.com today comes with a dynojet kit, so we'll see what happens... I also ordered the skid plate and i got some of those cheap metal footpegs
