Take the CENTER cap off and the spring out of the plunger.
Depress the ratchet pawl and Compress the plunger Back into the body.
Re-mount the body into the cylinder block, then re-install the spring and center cap.

And you probably figured this out an Hour Ago.

Well yes and no! There is no spring inside. Looks like a previous owner has converted the factory assembly to a 'Kreiger' style. So he drilled and tapped the stock bolt, added a long threaded bolt with lock nut against original bolt. I think it will be Ok, but unsure how far I will run the long thin bolt in which will push the tensioner against the can chain. My feeling would be the screw in until I feel chain, then a twist more and lock. What do you think.

How do I post pics on this forum?

zooltan,
With a 'manual' cam chain tensioner, I would turn the engine to TDC, loosen the lock nut, turn the adjuster bolt with 'Fingers Only' till snug. Rotate the engine ONE Full rotation to TDC again and again using fingers ONLY turn the adjuster bolt to ZERO, Lock the nut.

Purchase a new Automatic cam chain Tensioner at your earliest convenience!
