Cogent Ultimate shock

As many of you know, I have a unhealthy interest in KLR suspension. Cogent Dynamics just released their "Cogent Moab Pro-Series Ultimate" shock and naturally I had to have one!

Here's the updated info from their website: http://www.motocd.com/product/moab-p...te-rear-shock/

Now before anyone comments; yes it is pricey and yes, it is a premium shock. Not everybody wants or needs a shock this advanced but it rounds out Cogents line up even though I suspect many/most will still opt for the Adventure or Moab.

I will provide some feedback once I have it mounted and again when I test it back to back against my other KLR which is equipped with the standard Moab.

Cheers,
Dave

GULP!

I'm trying to envision exactly where and at what angle the RPA anchors. I know, more pics to follow.
Are the initial damping specs 'over-the-counter' or spec'd to each customer?

Now, are you actually planning to put some panniers on and take a longer ride?

Congratulations, Dave!

I had the privilege of spending a couple of days in the Cogent shop two summers ago, while my KLR-riding companions had "makeovers." From what I observed, I have every confidence in the competence and integrity of Cogent staff and their products.

Tell others, "If you must ask how much it costs, you can't afford one!"

My view: You will never regret the effort and expense of obtaining quality.

1) More pics to follow! ;-)

2) custom setup for each customer with a serial number and file at Cogent

3) ....I have a 3 day dual sport "race" in June and I'm planning on doing the WABDR in 4-5 days in July. ......but no panniers for me! ....thinking Mosko Moto or Nelson Rigg soft luggage on some dirt rack panniers...

Cheers,
Dave

Haha,

I haven't been able to visit CD yet but I've had the pleasure of spending hours talking suspension with Rick and Todd; Great guys, knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about what they do.

Oh my. I have a CD shock on the Tenere, Elka on the KLR, and I'm thinking i need to update the DRZ. Hopefully they make this for the DRZ too!

Here's a pic of the new shock all nestled in place; fitment is very nice with the reservoir looking like the bike was designed for it. The RAP is out of the way but still easy to use. It's a bit tricky to get it mounted with the upper shock bolt, crankcase breather hose and RAP hose fighting for position but all in all it went smoothly. Now to get out and test it to see how it feels;
