Check Your Steering tube bearings
I recently replaced my races and bearings in the steering head / tube on my 06. I advise you to keep an eye on your front end by checking for play in the steering tube.
To check this, put your bike on a lift or suspend it however you can and take hold of the forks down near the front axle, give a little pull & push to feel for a bump. If you feel any play you'll want to get after it ASAP.
Check for loose nuts on the head set and torque them down if you find them loose. Replacing the races is a big pain in the ass. Just finding a drift to drive them out with is job #1. After you get them out you're pretty much out of the woods because the new ones go in easier than the old come out.
Keeping an eye on these bearings will save you all the screwing around that I had to do.
