Stripped Float Bowl
Just recently bought an 89 KLR for a good price that needed some work. As I was taking apart the carb for a cleaning and to do a rebuild, I found the drain on the float bowl was hard to get out. Figured it might just have 28 years of gunk holding it in there so I thought nothing of it. Put it all back together and turned on the fuel..which ended up all over the engine and my garage. So I took it back apart so I could get a better look. The treads on the bolt look ok, but I can't get it to seat all of the way. So I'm thinking that the bowl's threads might be the culprit. Anyone ever repair threads on the bowl before? Or modified it? Rather not purchase a new carb because of this problem
Thanks for any info.
