KLR 250 Yoshi pipe

I have a Yoshi pipe that I want to put on my KLR 250. Problem is I do not know what it was made for, i think a crotch rocket. Does anyone know if it would give me good power? I am afraid it may not give enough back pressure but not sure if this really matters. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

No pipe should be installed without other modifications. Start with carburetion.

Second suggestion, its a 250. The best mod you can make is replacing it with a KLR650.

Im about to graduate college and when I get a good job I will buy something with some real power. I own this already and want to just play with what I have. I am planning on opening the airbox up, and rejetting also. So waht do you guys thing about the pipe? Will it hurt the performace?

The worst thing that could happen would be that the bike would run lean because the pipe flows more than the stock pipe. This is easily fixed at the carb end either by raising the needle or going up a jet size. Put that pipe on and you'll know pretty quickly if it is running lean.

If the pipe doesn't have enough back pressure then the awesome torque of the 250 will be diminished; you'll know that, too. There's not much you can do about that.

I say put it on and see what you can learn. Seems like a cheap enough educational opportunity.
