Rear master flush?

After rebuilding the rear caliper I noticed the slime and crud in there wondering is there a trick to flushing out master and line or is it as simple as shooting brake cleaner and pump it up a few times?

I'll advise as to Not put brake cleaner into the assembled system.

If there is crud in the reservoir & supply hose, one can remove the circlip on the black plastic nipple and take those pieces to the sink and use soap & water.
Then use clean brake Fluid & a brush to clean the pocket & o-ring for the plastic nipple.
With the cleaned reservoir reinstalled, then you can hold the delivery hose high & pump clean brake fluid thru the hose before connecting to the caliper.
Then bleed the air out of the caliper as normal.

Never anything but brake fluid should ever go onto any brake parts. Brake cleaner will damage the rubber parts.

The way I've been doing it for 40+ years:........I use vacuum pump to get everything out of the reservoir, wipe the reservoir with cotton swabs (every nook and cranny), I don't disconnect the hose, I fill the reservoir with clean fluid, and pump, pump, pump, until I get clean fluid coming out of the bleed nipple (adding fluid as it goes down in the reservoir). It works for me. I change fluid once a year, and I never really encountered "slime/crud" in the reservoir, unless I purchased a bike that was neglected. "Brake cleaner"? No way Sir.

Thanks everyone!

I purchased the bike from a fellow who scared himself with it. Its my second Malibu barbie, the previous owners must have just topped it and kept riding.
It was full of copper colored slime and bits of stuff floating around.
Im gonna take PDWESTMANs advice and tear it apart and properly clean the whole system.

Actually, I was suggesting a way to purge 98% of the crud without removing the master cylinder piston & cup. And therefore not risking damage to those pieces.

But there is that tiny little hole at the top of the fluid inlet pocket which people seem to neglect to clean. There are 2 holes in that pocket. The top one is stepped & chamfered. A soft toothbrush bristle might be about the right size. (do Not Drill)

You did PDWESTMAN, I think I knew the answer before asking and needed just a little nudge or passing comment to get going on a rebuild. Ive never seen such buildup in a caliper in anything ever.
