whirring noise after service/Doohickey adjustment
So I had my KLR now for two weeks, put 500 km on her and love it. I did a service on her, oil, filter and airfilter, checked valve clearances and took the cover off to check on the doo. It is an aftermarket one, looks like an Eagle Mike, no play and right in the middle of the adjustment range. So pretty happy with that. Thing is after I put everything back together I have a whirring sound which was not there before. Sound like a loose timing chain to me. How can that be after I loosened the doo screw to re-tighten the chain? Can it be the starter gears as well? I used Shell Helix HX7 10W-40 oil. It says API SN/CF, ACEA A3/B4. I believe it is a synthetic oil. Can the oil cause the engine to make more mechanical noise?
