How can I tell if my dohickey got pulled?

I just bought a 2005 klr650 from a second owner, He had only ridden it 300 miles before selling it. The original owner had logged 25000 miles on it. I am willing to do the doohickey change if it needs it because I like to wrench and protect my new found enjoyment, however I would hate to tear into it for no reason if it has been done already. I was told the bike came from Mooresville, Indiana it is a 2005 red klr650 I thought maybe I could do a members search and find him but I don't see a way to search members by location. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Just my .02, but since you like to wrench, it's not that hard to open up. Changing out the doo is a little complicated, but just opening it up to look should be pretty straightforward.

I did it!!!! I did the doo!! It was a lot easier than I thought it might be. My doo hickey was in great shape but the spring was broken. Boy am I glad I did this. I put the Eagle Mikes in and a new spring.
