gen 2 kill switch on gen 1 ???

hi guys, can this be done? I dont mind soldering into contacts to connect the CDI wire to ground if I have to, but I don't have a gen 2 switch to play with so I dont even know if there are any contacts available to solder into on the 'kill' position.

GEN 2 Kill switch - disconnects the ignition coil signal on 'kill'
GEN 1 Kill Switch - grounds the CDI/magneto wire to kill the engine

so it sounds difficult studying the wiring diagrams. the route I came with is to have "run" on a gen 2 button actually kill the bike, but that is confusing.

my motivation is thriftyness - gen 2 is $20 for assembly, gen 1 is 60-100 $. I spent 5 bucks on a 'generic kill switch' and it is a cheap momentary switch that I use to ground the CDI wire to kill the bike. it works, but takes up handlebar space and is not in a convenient location.

That would work. There will be two brown wires that you will need to connect together for the starter switch. After you're done the starter will still operate when the kill switch is engaged.
